As part of the Look now, See Forever exhibition at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, artist Yayoi Kusama created the Obliteration Room. Kusama created a domestic space, with couches, a piano, chairs and tables painted entirely white, creating a large blank canvas. Over the course of two weeks, visitors – especially young children – were given coloured stickers that they could paste anywhere they wanted. The bare white walls were soon obliterated by explosive and vibrant colours that resulted in a captivating work of art.
