World’s fastest growing young luxury fashion brands
Independent luxury brands have seized the growth opportunity, a gap left by the major established luxury brands which have been experiencing a steep decline in their performance, mostly because of over-expansion and a lack of understanding the changing luxury consumer. Luxury groups such as LVMH and Kering were among the first to grasp on the opportunity and started acquiring young luxury brands such as Altuzzara, Christopher Kane, Tomas Maier and Nicholas Kirkwood.
Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang, Aquazzura, Jason Wu and Victoria Beckham remain top acquisition targets for the mid to term future, the three companies reporting double digit growth performance in the past 2 years.
Set up in 2006, Tom Ford remains a reference for successful young luxury fashion brands, which have maintained their independence. Tom Ford has been successfully financing the growth of its business mainly through its high lucrative beauty business controlled by Estée Lauder Companies Inc.
