Waldorf Astoria Hotel Jerusalem to open August 2014
The Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem hotel which is located in the heart of the city at the intersection of King David / Agron Streets and Mamilla Avenue will feature 226 lavishly sized rooms, including 33 suites and two presidential suites. Hotel facilities are spread over ten floors and include three restaurants, two bars, a cigar club, rooftop terrace and a Waldorf Astoria Spa and a health club with indoor swimming pool. The hotel will offer eight state-of-the-art meeting rooms, a conference center and the Palace Grand Ballroom, the biggest in downtown Jerusalem.
Built in 1929, the impressive structure is currently undergoing an extensive renovation, which will see the historic facade of intricate stone carvings and decorative arches fully restored, as well as a complete rebuilding of the interior. Adjacent to the hotel, the luxurious Residences at The Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem will have views of the Old City and will enjoy access to hotel services and amenities.
The investment by Canadian developer and prime investor, Paul Reichmann (Terra Firma Capital Corp) in The Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem is estimated at US$150 million.
