Vivarte Group expands in Asia
French based upscale shoes and accessories Vivarte Group which owns the Minelli, Andrew and Cosmoparis brands has announced major expansion plans in the Far East. The first Minelli store is expected to open in January 2015 at the Grand Gateway shopping mall in Shanghai. The first Cosmoparis store will be launched in the first half of 2015.
Vivarte’s ambitious retail expansion strategy in Asia aims for a total of 200 stores and $350 million in sales within four years across 8 countries including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Korea. The company’s expasion in Asia is jointly supported by its Hong Kong-based partner, the GRI Retail Group, a heavyweight in Asia with a portfolio that includes Stuart Weitzman, Nine West, Karen Millen, Joan & David, Steve Madden, as well as its own brand EQIQ. GRO Retail Group has 1,200 shoe stores across Asia which generate sales of more than $1.2 billion.
