Vertu launched today its new smartphone, the Vertu Aster, a device which the company’s CEO claims is much more than aesthetics. Craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technology coalesce to provide an exceptional luxury experience:
Dolby® Digital Plus gives you superior sound reproduction, virtual surround sound and less distortion through front-facing, built-in stereo speakers, and while listening through headphones. Pre-set Dolby® profiles are quickly accessed by our custom volume control. Aster uses aptX® support for superior audio quality when streaming music through a Bluetooth connection, and for smoother videos and gaming. Noise cancellation from two microphones cuts ‘noise’ from the microphone and earpiece, with high-definition voice certification for crystal-clear calls.
Tuned with world-renowned photography experts Hasselblad, the sapphire-protected main camera has a 13-megapixel sensor. The 4.7” full-HD display, with 473 pixels per inch (the highest-resolution display of that size), is completed by a 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera that’s ideal for Skype calls. An advanced display management gives you a high-quality viewing experience, even in bright sunshine and significantly cuts display power consumption.
Made from a single piece of virtually scratch-proof sapphire, the second-toughest natural material after diamond, your HD screen is well protected. The Grade 5 titanium alloy, usually found in spacecraft – it gives twice the strength but almost half the weight of steel. The solid ruby key is chosen for its fine appearance and resistance to wear. The phone features a laser-blasted Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) to create an exceptionally tough, and beautiful black surface. Dropped on concrete, frozen to -45°C, baked at 80 °C, and pummelled with ball bearings, Aster is rigorously tested to take extreme punishment
Aster delivers incredible power for fast browsing and multi-tasking, with the latest version of Android™, driven by a high-performance processor. The high-performance Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 801 2.3GHz quad core processor makes every task smoother and faster. With improved battery performance and console-quality gaming graphics. Aster runs the latest version of Android™ 4.4 (KitKat) giving you faster multi-tasking and automatic prioritisation of your contacts.
