Thom Browne opens first store in Hong Hong
Thom Browne opened last week his first flagship boutique in Greater China at Hong Kong’s fashion hub on Lan Street. Located in the city’s business district, the 2,200-sq-ft shop was designed by Browne himself and executed by Studio Mellone based on the designer’s original store in New York.
Spread over three floors, the store houses a full range of the men’s collection, including shoes and accessories. Inside, the space mimics design details of an office from the late ’50s or early ’60s with the poured Terrazzo floors, grey marble-clad walls, Browne’s signature window blinds, simple fluorescent lighting and continental mid-century furniture by the likes of Paul McCobb, Edward Wormley and Pierre Jeanneret. The ground floor, meanwhile, feels more like a lobby and houses a small lounge area with a Gio Ponti-style bar and stools. The store is operated in partnership with JOYCE.
