Swarovski to launch first ever fine jewelry collection
Following its debut into the wearables market earlier this year, and after revealing a new collaboration with fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier, Swarovski announce its plans to launch its first ever collection of fine jewellery.
To mark its 120th year in the business, Swarovski will expand beyond its current offering of fashion jewellery, and debut its new nature-inspired fine jewellery collection this June 2015. The collection features 60 beautifully-crafted pieces, done in sterling silver, 14-karat gold and 14-karat rose gold.
Drawing on inspiration from the brand’s home – the Alps in Switzerland, where Swarovski was founded in 1895, the newly appointed head of fine jewellery for Swarovski North America Susan Popper told WWD: “Moving into a new segment, we wanted to craft an offering that makes sense to the fine jewelry purchaser and, at the same time, remained true to the DNA of our brand,” adding: “We drew upon water and nature, which are key pillars of our brand.”
