Shangri-La to open fifth property in the U.A.E.

The new Shangri-La in Dubai which will open 2016, will be located within in The Palm Tower, a new 52-storey mixed-use project developed by Nakheel on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah.

On its rooftop, the complex includes a 50th floor, 360-degree infinity swimming pool – the highest in Dubai – bordering all four sides of the building. Above the pool is an enclosed restaurant and function facility, topped by a public viewing deck on the 52nd level.

The Palm Tower comprises 504 high-end, furnished apartments, with the Shangri-La Hotel to feature 290-rooms and suites, occupying the first 18 floors of the building. The hotel will feature an outdoor family dining, an outdoor pool, a health club and spa.

Construction on the Palm Tower is due to start this year and the developnment will be directly linked to the Nakheel Mall according to the developer. The Palm Tower will also have direct bridge access to Club Vista Mare, one of Nakheel’s new beach club complexes on the island, as well as to Al Ittihad Park and the Palm Monorail, which will be connected to the new Dubai Tram system.
