Selfridges London sales exceed 1 billion pounds

London luxury department store Selfridges is to report 1 billion pounds in sales in 2012. The company, owned by the Canadian Weston family, is expected to announce a profit increase of 5 per cent to 133 million pounds this week.Selfridges managing director Anne Pitcher stated that 2012 would be “another good year”, despite a “difficult” summer due to the Olympics – during which many West End retailers saw a decrease in sales.
The retailer is preparing for a number of expansions at its flagship Oxford Street store, with the redevelopment of its womenswear and menswear departments and the launch of new beauty services.
