Luxury fashion house Saint Laurent has opened its first-ever, freestanding Canadian boutique, in Vancouver. The 4,800-square-foot store store, located on 746 Thurlow Street, retails both women’s and men’s collections and is based on an adaptable, global concept championed by ex-creative director Hedi Slimane, before his departure from the label.
Based on the simple, contemporary codes of the Union des Artistes Modernes (UAM), using French Art Deco techniques and materials, the store features a variety of hard surfaces in black and white marble and highly polished metal, balanced with soft, quilted leather furniture.
