Rosewood Hotels & Resorts announces new curators
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has added New York style icon Iris Apfel, famed quarterback Steve Young, and fashion designers Heidi Gosman and Penny Klein of heidi klein to its innovative Rosewood Curators program. Launched in September 2013, Rosewood Curators are a carefully selected collection of luminaries and leaders who share their insider secrets, travel tips and favorite activities in Rosewood destinations around the world.
Iris Apfel is as much of a New York institution as The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel. She has been honored by the city as a fashion icon and style maverick. However Iris was originally an interior decorator and her projects include work at the White House for nine different Presidents. At the age of 93 (but very much young at heart) she is a front row regular during New York Fashion Week. A gallery at the Anna Wintour Costume Center at the Metropolitan Museum of Art has been named after her and her adored husband, Carl.
In the short film shot exclusively for www.rosewoodhotels.com , Iris reveals her favorite places to eat and drink in New York, her love of travel and also her preferred pastime in the city that never sleeps. More of Iris will be seen in cinemas in April 2015 when IRIS, a documentary by Albert Maysles, will go on general release in North America.
There are currently 21 Rosewood Curators which include diverse names such as tennis player Maria Sharapova, fashion editor Nina Garcia, film director Johnnie To and auctioneer Simon de Pury.
