Rocco Forte Hotels expand in Middle East North Africa and invest 150 million euro in Sicily resort

Luxury hotel group Rocco Forte confirmed this week an investment of 150 million euros in its Sicilian location, VERDURA GOLF & SPA Resort, to add new accommodations. With only 28 rooms and suites, Verdura Resort boasts  two 18-hole championship golf courses and a 9-hole, designed by Kyle Phillips, six tennis courts; a full- size football pitch, a 60m infinity swimming pool, a fully-equipped gym and running trails which meander through the olive and lemon groves. Verdura Golf & Spa Resort hosted this Spring the prestigious Sicilian Open 2012, part of PGA European Tour.

Following the recent opening in Abu Dhabi, Rocco Forte is due to open in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Luxor (Egypt), Beirut (Lebanon) and Marrakech (Morocco) – all openings, management agreements with third parties, are expected within the end of next year. Rocco Forte Group reported a 13,2 % increase in its turnover to 223 million euros in 2011, compared to 2010.
