PRADA opens two stores in Casablanca, Morocco
Prada opened last week two stand alone stores, marking the official entry on the Moroccan market. Both Prada stores are situated with Casablanca’s brand new “Morocco Mall”, which is anchored by Galleries Lafayette.
The women’s store occupies about 380 square metres on a single level and it offers the ready-to-wear, footwear, leather goods and accessories collections. The 6-metres tall storefront is especially impressive and a luminescent resin screen, arranged in a regular geometrical pattern framed by polished steel profiles, covers its height and opens to reveal the store’s two entrances, three wide windows and light boxes.
Two wide passages lead to the area offering footwear and ready-to-wear. Here, the precious display niches are inset in a green fabric curtain that covers the perimeter walls in an articulated, stylish geometry. This area is rendered especially sophisticated and appealing by the rich display counters and by the “Clover Leaf” sofas, designed by Verner Panton and exclusively reproduced for Prada.
The men’s store has a unique, definitely masculine image. The storefront in vertically arranged Saint Laurent marble staves frames the entrance, the two wide windows and the light box.The inside features precious display cases and counters in crystal and palladium metal, ebony wood staved floors, walls also covered in ebony wood and sophisticated rust-coloured ostrich sofas.
