PPR (Gucci Group) partners with Parsons New York
French luxury group PPR, parent company of Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Boucheron has teamed up with Parsons School, the most prestigious American design institution. This partnership gives birth to a competition for final year students of fashion design course in New York school, a competition that will send two of them doing an internship in one of the houses of the PPR Group.
Over the next few days, a jury composed of representatives of the school but also of PPR, through the Director of the American subsidiary, Laurent Claquin, among other things, will appoint five finalists. They will then be presented on the social network TheFancy.com (specialist “social shopping“ and in which PPR invested last fall), where one million users will be invited to vote for their two favorites.
In addition to internships at the brand of their choice and “all expenses paid“ - as stated in the PPR group - the two winners will have their creations exhibited by the department store Barneys during fashion week in New York.
