Port Baku, Azerbaijan adds new luxury stores
Recent openings at the Port Baku Mall, which spreads over 32,000 sqm, include new market entrants such as Balenciaga, Red Valentino Givenchy, Chloe, Emilio Pucci, Alexander McQueen, Jimmy Choo and Dsquared2 – all with mono-brands stores; but also brands which relocated from street level locations, such as Hugo Boss and Max Mara. Emporio Armani, Valentino, Burberry, Tiffany & Co, Max & Co, Tag Heuer opened their second mono-brand outposts in Baku, at Porto Baku Mall.
The new Emporium Baku department store located within the Port Baku Mall opened last month with a brand new concept, covering 10,000 sqm on three floors. The new Emporium Baku is dedicated to women’s, boasting a mix of brands which includes dedicated corners of Dolce & Gabbana, Celine, Tom Ford, Elie Saab, La Perla, Moncler, as well as a multi-brand selection: Giambattista Valli, Azzedine Alaia, Saint Laurent,Balmain, Carven, Oscar de la Renta, Alberta Feretti, Alexander Wang, Marс Jacobs, Michael Kors, MiuMiu, Prada, Victoria Beckham. The first Emporium store, which opened in 2013, adjacent to Port Baku, will be dedicated to men’s apparel and accessories.
Future mono-brand store openings at Port Baku Mall include: Balenciaga, Ralph Lauren, DVF, Burberry,IWC, Tiffany, Marc by Marc Jacobs. With the exception of Dior, which operates directly its store in Baku, all other international luxury fashion branded stores in Azerbaijan are operated in franchising by the two local luxury retailers. Notable absentees from Azerbaijan’s luxury market (mono-brand stores) include Hermes , Louis Vuitton and Prada.
