Ralph Lauren, which already operates branded eateries in Paris and Chicago has opened his first restaurant in New York City, the New York Times reports. The 178-seat Polo Bar is just steps away from the designer’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue. “I’m about longevity, I’m about timeless,” Lauren told the NYT as he drank—what else?—his own brand of coffee. “It was not my idea to be trendy. I don’t want to be the hot restaurant. I want to be the restaurant you want to go to twice a week.”
