POLLINI returns to its origins and gives up ready to wear

Italian luxury brand POLLINI which is owned by the AEFFE group will no longer produce apparel and will therefore return to its origins of a leather accessories brand, especially shoes and bags. The creative direction will be taken over by Nicholas Kirkwood who will sign the Spring Summer 2011 collection. The brand will also collaborate with several emerging designers creating the shoes collections for them, in a project called POLLINI Forward Designers, which had its debut in New York earlier this week with designer Preen.

Like the rest of the brands of the AEFFE Group, POLLINI has registered negative financial results, with a 19,2% drop in revenues for the first half of 2010 to EUR 22,3 million. The group is undergoing a financial restructuring. The AEFFE Group also includes Alberta Ferretti and Moschino and produces under licence Cacharel, Jean Paul Gaultier.
