Peninsula Hotels launch the Summer collection of exquisit experiences by The Peninsula Academy
First created in 1997, The Peninsula Academy provides Peninsula Hotels in-house guests with the ultimate Concierge guide for each of the destinations of the chain. The rich culture and hidden gems of each location are highlighted in a variety of inspired and bespoke programmes for individuals, groups or the entire family to enjoy and experience.
The programmes are designed to give guests unprecedented insider access to historical, cultural and local lifestyle activities in each of our nine Peninsula cities. The Peninsula Academy experiences include everything from helicopter tours over the Great Wall of China to surfing lessons by celebrity trainers at a private Malibu estate, and even a chance to go behind-the-scenes at a Broadway show.
The latest programmes by The Peninsula Academy include:
A Hollywood style photo shoot at The Peninsula Beverly Hills – the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be photographed in glamorous Hollywood style – wearing formal evening attire accented with jewels from Mikimoto – just like celebrities on the red carpet at a movie premiere, the Emmys, or the Academy Awards.
Princess for A Day at The Peninsula Chicago: a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a young guest, complete with a princess dress and tiara, horse-drawn pumpkin carriage ride, shopping spree and a prince presenting a glass slipper for a fairy tale ending.
An art dialogue – Insights into contemporary art at The Peninsula Hong Kong: travel in a chauffeured MINI Clubman and come face-to-face with artists in residence and meet artists working and gain insights into Hong Kong’s art studios through conversations with the artists themselves. Mixing the old with the new, the programme includes lunch at a home-style Cantonese private kitchen, situated in a heritage building in Wan Chai. No two Art Dialogue programmes are alike.
An introduction to Chinese opera at The Peninsula Shanghai: the programme encourages guests to understand the fabled history of Chinese Opera, learn first-hand the intricate stage production and musical processes, and enjoy a rare opportunity to dress up like an operatic star.
Escape to Xanadu, at The Peninsula Beverly Hills: a day at Xanadu, the Malibu oceanfront estate that was once owned by actress Olivia Newton-John, star of the eponymous movie. Normally closed to the public, enjoy privileged access to one of Malibu’s iconic and famous residences. Surfing lessons, kayaking, a gourmet al fresco lunch and more are included.
