Orient Express Hotels could reject bid by India’s Tata

Since the announcement by Indian Hotels (Tata Group) of its bid for Orient Express Hotels, market analysts unanimously agree that Orient Express is likely to pass up the unsolicited bid. By announcing the appointment of a new CEO this week, Orient Express Hotels seems to firmly indicate confidence in its own abilities to improve performance of its business. Several analysist have told the FT and Bloomberg that although the unsolicited bid was 43 percent higher than Orient-Express’s 20-day average price, the offer does not reflect the real value of many of the properties that Orient Express owns around the world.
