New luxury hotel opening in Belgrade, Serbia
SQUARE NINE is the new five star addition to the Belgrade hotel market to open by mid February 2011. The 45 room hotel is situated downtown within steps from Students’ Park, some of the rooms and suites boasting a park view. The hotel was designed by architect Isay Weinfeld and the decor is dominated by bronze mirrors, wood and an overall warm and cosy mix. Square Nine will have an international cuisine restaurant and a lobby bar.
Square Nine is the second five star hotel in Belgrade, the first being the Hyatt Regency, which has not been renovated for more than five years. A Hilton managed hotel is currently under construction in the centre of the city and is scheduled to open late 2012. Kempinski has signed an agreement to manage a hotel by the Danube in the New Belgrade area, scheduled 2013, yet the project is uncertain. Delta Group, owners of Continental Hotel (former InterContinental) announced they will re-brand the hotel to a Crowne Plaza starting with 2012.
