New luxury car lauches at Shanghai Motor Show 2013
The Shanghai Motor Show 2013, one of the largest carshows in Asia, will kick off on April 21st at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Many of the international luxury carmakers are launching new models and unveiling new concepts.
Maserati is hosting in Shanghai the world premier of its new Ghibli, a four-door, four-seat executive sedan, with a very sporty character. Maserati has confirmed that the car will come with two different turbocharged V6 engines, an eight-speed automatic gearbox, a choice of rear-wheel or four-wheel drive and, for the first time in the company’s history, a diesel derivative, albeit a V6 turbodiesel.
Porsche presents in Shanghai its a new hybrid in the 2014 Porsche Panamera range, called S E-Hybrid which has a 95 hp electric motor and a 9.4 kWh lithium-ion battery that can be recharged in two and a half hours from a quick charger and four hours from a normal outlet. Thanks to the battery with a five times higher capacity than the previous hybrid version of Panamera and thanks to the electric engine with twice as much power than its predecessor, 2014 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid has a range of 36 km (22 miles) in 100% electric mode and boasts with a fuel efficiency of 3.1 liters/100 km. Acura, the luxury division under the Japanese automaker Honda, is launching at Shanghai Motor Show a compact crossover, potentially compete against the BMW X1, the Audi Q3, the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class.
Mercedes Benz confirms official debut of Mercedes Benz GLA Crossover Concept in China at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show. The GLA will be offered with front- and all-wheel drive, and a choice of four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines taken from the parts bin available to other Mercedes vehicles making use of the shared architecture. An AMG version is possible, but not confirmed, and it wouldn’t become a reality for some time.
Citroën’s will unveil at Shanghai Auto Show its DS Wild Rubis luxury SUV concept , a full-hybrid plug-in four-wheel drive vehicle that gives at 4.7m in length and standing 1.59m tall, the car is imposing and features a prodigious use of chrome plus huge 21-inch alloy wheels.
