Morgan Stanley fund to buy Moscow shopping center “Metropolis” from Capital Partners
Morgan Stanley fund is in talks to acquire the Moscow shopping center Metropolis from Capital Partners for an alleged US$ 32 million. If the purchase goes through, it will be the biggest commercial real estate deal this year in Russia.
With a total area of 20.000 sqm and a GLA of 80.000 sqm on 3 levels (260 shops), Metropolis is one of the biggest shopping centers in Moscow. The current brand mix of Metropolis Mall includes premium brands (DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, Juicy Couture, Gerard Darel, Guess etc) as well as mass market brands ( Zara, Mango, H&M etc). Adjacent to the Metropolis Mall are three office towers with a total area 120,000 square meters. Morgan Stanley and Capital Partners refused to comment on the deal.
