Moncler registers 38 percent growth in sales, first half 2012 and pursues expansion
Italian luxury brand Moncler registered a 38% increase in sales during the first half of 2012, reaching a total of 155 million euros. The company is working to minimize its exposure in Italy, sales accounting for up to 35% of all sales. Moncler’s performance in Italy has remained stable despite the economic turmoil, thanks to its directly operated stores in the major cities, which target foreign travellers. In Italy, Moncler is aiming to reduce the number of multi-brand stores where it is distributed in Italy from 500 to 300 stores within the next 2 to 3 years.
Moncler is planning is open 20 mono-brand stores around the world, by the end of this year, the upcoming one being in Budapest, the total number of mono-brand Moncler stores will thus reach 80. In February 2013, Moncler is planning to open its flagship store in Paris.
