MIU MIU opens its first flagship store in Moscow

PRADA‘s Miu Miu opened last week its first boutique in Russia in Moscow’s Stoleshnikov Pereulok street, the city’s luxury shopping destination. The area is an artistic and forward-looking location for a store that stocks the brand’s collections of ready-to- wear, bags, footwear and accessories.
Designed by the architect Roberto Baciocchi, the store evokes the mysterious charm of an unexplored treasure trove, in which each product is presented like a rare jewel. Footwear is thereby displayed in small matte-brass “safety deposit boxes”, whilst bags and accessories are placed in wall-safes set into the damask walls.
The space spans over two floors covering a total surface area of approximately 300 square metres in which ironic references to the “securely sealed” elements of banks alternate with the quintessentially feminine classic Miu Miu furnishings in gold damask, brass and glass. The external façade of the store includes large windows with perforated backlit metal curtains, which, like elegant screens, let passersby catch a glimpse of the store and the new Miu Miu design concept.
