Following the launch of its M Social Singapore last summer, London-based Millennium & Copthorne Hotels has added a second M Social hotel, this one in Auckland.
Formerly a Copthorne hotel, the 190-room M Social Auckland was built in the 1970s and has traded in previous decades as a Travelodge, according to The New Zealand Herald.
The property will have five “Social” guestroom themes as well as two suite categories, the harbor and ocean. Leading up to the rooms, each floor at the hotel will have a defining theme, featuring elements of local culture like plant and marine life and literature.
Guests staying in a Social Club Room or one of the suites will also have access to the Social Lounge which has communal workstations, individual tables, printers and stationery. The property’s restaurant, Beast & Butterflies, is casual all-day with a focus on Pacific Rim and street food influences.
