Mall of the Emirates to expand retail space and add luxury hotel
MAF Majid al Futaim has recenly announced plans to expand Dubai’s The Mall of The Emirates in an investment estimated at $253 million. The first phase of the new developments will be a new fashion district dedicated to contemporary apparel which will accommodate 30 new fashion stores. The project, to be completed by the end of 2013, involves a comprehensive re-merchandising strategy that includes integrating existing and new contemporary fashion brands.
The existing Kempinski Mall of The Emirates is undergoing a major refurbishment of its rooms, meeting facilities and restaurants,estimated to be completed by 2015. Majid Al Futtaim is also planning to develop a new ultra-luxury branded hotel within Mall of The Emirates. The exclusive new hotel will have 200 rooms, multiple restaurants, as well as sports and leisure facilities.
