Major reshuffle at LVMH – Marc Jacobs to move to Dior ?

According to WWD, several reliable sources indicate that a meeting will take place this week, in Paris, between Bernard Arnault, owner of LVMH, which includes Dior and Vuitton), management of Dior, lawyers and Marc Jacobs, currently, the creative director at Louis Vuitton.

Dior management are reported to be excited about the potential move which would end a 6 month period during which the house did not have a creative director after John Galliano was sacked in March. Marc Jacobs’s move to Dior will likely bring about another important change, his possible replacement being Phoebe Philo credited for the revival of Celine, a brand also owned by LVMH. Her arrival at Vuitton would also mark a new creative direction for Vuitton, Philo being known for her minimalist and understated luxury designs.
