Luxury watches to premier at 2014 SIHH Geneva

The 2014 edition of Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva which will be held between January 20 to 24, 2014 is yet another edition which promisses many exceptional new luxury timepieces, most of which debuting at the event.

Like last year, 16 exhibitors will showcase at the invitation-only event in Geneva – A. Lange & Söhne, Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, Greubel Forsey, IWC,Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Officine Panerai, Parmigiani Fleurier, Piaget, Ralph Lauren,

Audemars Piguet will launch Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon at 2014 (SIHH) in Geneva – a watch for avant-garde collectors and connoisseurs that brooks no compromise in either technical or aesthetic terms. Its sculpted titanium case middle  and integrated rubber strap combine with a white ceramic bezel to frame the highly architectural array of tourbillon carriage and second ‘GMT’ time-zone display inside – case and movement in perfect harmony. New for 2014, however, is the flash of pure white centre-stage: an intricately machined upper bridge made of white ceramic – only possible now, thanks to Audemars Piguet’s ongoing advances in materials science.

Inspired by Ralph Lauren’s 1938 Type 57SC Bugatti Atlantic Coupe, the Ralph Lauren Automotive Flying Tourbillon features elm burlwood at the outer dial and a matte-black inner dial. Its flying tourbillon is revealed through an aperture at six o’clock and supported only at the bottom of the cage, appearing as if suspended.

Vacheron Constantin is debuting at 2014 SIHH the Malte Tourbillon HJ covered in 418 diamond baguettes and houses a new hand-wound, tonneau-shaped movement. The sample is also a dedication to the brand’s Métiers d’Art. According to the Swiss watchmaker, the precise work of diamond-paving required over 100 hours of goldsmithing work.
