Luxury advertising banned in China

The Beijing authority on commerce and industry has ordered all advertisers to modify or retract their advertisments on luxury products and services by April 15th, subject to a 4000 euro fine after this deadline. Beijing authority wants to ”stop promotion and hedonism of foreign products”, banning use of words such as luxury, supreme, class and royal. The measure comes as the Chinese Government has been more and more concerned about the huge gap between the rich and the poor.
