Louis Vuitton inaugurated last week, in Paris, at 6, Place de St Germain, its first pop up store Cabinet d’ecriture, dedicated to the art of writing. The pop up store will remain open for one year. A series of manuscripts on display, provided by Gaston-Louis Vuitton, the grandson of the founder of Vuitton, trace the exchange of letters between Louis Vuitton and many of the writers, editors and illustrators of his time. The store will attract a series of craftsmen from the world of writing, especially travel writers. The Vuitton pop up store sells paper, ink as well as a limited edition of writing instruments created by St Dupont for Louis Vuitton. A ”writing corner” will be gradually introduced at stores worldwide, next year.
