Louis Vuitton Maison flagship store in Venice, now open
Louis Vuitton inaugurated yesterday in Venice the Louis Vuitton Maison, the 18th such store of the brand, worldwide. The Louis Vuitton Maison in Venice is the second Maison of the brand in Italy, after the Louis Vuitton Maison Etoile in Rome, opened last year.
Vuitton’s Maisons are larger stores, housed within exceptional buildings and each featuring a distinct interior design concept. The Vuitton Maisons offer a range of exclusive services, unavailable at regular stores such as Made To Measure for shoes, personalization of products, VIP sales salons etc.
Steps from Piazza San Marco, the new Louis Vuitton Maison Venice covers 1.200 sqm and is housed within an impressive heritage building dating from 1906 when it used a cinema (Cinema Teatro San Marco) and was later rebuilt in 1936 by architect Brenno del Giudice, with architectural elements of nautical experience rather than cinema or theatre.
The store features a space entitled l’Espace Louis Vuitton Venezia, the first of its kind in Italy, and the sixth worldwide. The space houses an exhibition documenting Vuitton’s connections with Venice. Through a formal partnership with Fondazione Musei Civici a Venezia, Louis Vuitton will sponsor the restoration of artworks which will be exhibited in this new space, while young artists will also be invited to exhibit.
