L’Oreal posts solid growth in 2012 thanks to its luxury division and emerging markets

French giant L’Oreal reports a 10,4% increase in its turnover for 2012 reaching a total of 22,5 billion euros, compared to 2011. Emerging markets led by Asia have registered for L’Oreal a 13 percent growth with a total turnover of 8,2 billion euros. L’Oreal Luxury Division which includes licensing of several major brands such as Giorgio Armani and Yves Saint Laurent, as well as Lancome and Kiehl’s, has registered the best performance among all divisions, with a 16% increase in 2012 compared to 2011.

In 2012, L’Oreal has reinforced its position in Middle East / Africa, opening subsidiaries in Egypt, Kenya and Saudi Arabia; and in Latin America, the company has maintained its leadership position in Mexico, while it has made significant advances in Colombia, by purchasing a local make up brand.
