Latest novelties at Ananda in the Himalayas

Revive your well-being this summer at the world renowned Ananda in the Himalayas, which is introducing a series of fresh initiatives. New for 2017 the destination spa is launching an Ayurvedic cuisine and recipes app, is collaborating with UK fitness guru Matt Roberts on a new autumn retreat, and has also renovated 75 of its guest rooms and suites.

Ananda Launches New Healthy Cuisine App
Ananda’s wellness cuisine incorporates key principles from Ayurveda, which takes into consideration not just taste, but suitability to body type.  The team now offers the convenience of accessing this traditional diet with the launch of their new app, Ananda Healthy Cuisine, available to download on Android and Smartphones.

By answering a simple questionnaire on lifestyle and habits, a guideline to your major dosha is determined. Sandeep Biswas, executive chef at Ananda in the Himalayas, who conceptualised the app explains, “The body is made up of three elements or doshas: vata based on qualities of air, pitta – fire, and kapha – earth. In Ayurveda, health exists when there is a balance between what constitutes these elements. Every dosha has food ingredients and cooking styles that are appropriate for balancing your body’s elements as prescribed in ancient Ayurvedic principles. Our aim with the app is to bring the benefits of Ayurvedic cuisine to the kitchens of a much wider audience.”

Through the app, users can choose from an array of healthy gourmet dishes ranging from Indian, Asian and European cuisines, from breakfast to salads, and mains to dessert. It covers all aspects, including seasonal variations in cuisine as well as recommended styles of cooking.
