LALIQUE Museum opens in Alsace

Founded by René Lalique almost 90 years ago, French luxury glass manufacturer LALIQUE has inaugurated this week its museum in France in the village of Wingen-sur-Moder, on the west bank of the upper Rhine river adjacent to Germany and Switzerland. On display there are several iconic pieces such as the 1,7 ton crystal chandelier manufactured in 1951 and made up of 337 pieces. In total 650 works are on display, including jewellery, perfume bottles, tablewear etc.

Nestling amid a quite remarkable landscaped setting, flower gardens and wooded areas will enhance the area around the museum. The species chosen will provide a link between the works of art and the natural world that René Lalique loved so much and so closely observed.
