Kering first half sales grow 1.4 percent to 4.67 billion euros

Kering Group has recently reported first half 2013 sales increase of 1.4 percent to 4.67 billion euros and net profit rose 4.1 percent on a comparable basis reaching 582 million euros, in line with analyst expectations. While luxury has been the key driver for Kering, its Sport and Lifestyle division (Puma)saw a decline of 6.3 percent in first half sales to 1.58 billion euros.

“Trends recorded in the first six months of 2013 should continue in the second half,” Kering said in the statement. “In this context, the group maintains its goal of improving its operating and financial performances in the full year.” Comparable sales at Gucci gained 4.1 percent, accelerating slightly from the first-quarter’s 4 percent increase.
