Katara Hospitality’s Royal Savoy Hotel Lausanne to open November 2015

Overlooking Lac Lèman, Hotel Royal Savoy of Lausanne initially opened in 1906.  The iconic hotel will reopen this November after a five year complete renovation and expansion and a 100 million Swiss Francs investment which will return it to its former glory.

The property now includes the historical building fashioned in the Grand Château architectural style, complemented by a new construction in harmonious balance and surrounded by the hotel’s own park – a 5,000 square metre oasis of tranquility, right in the middle of the cosmopolitan city of Lausanne.

The five-star hotel will feature 196 bedrooms and suites spread between the historic and the new contemporary building. Also, a fabulous restaurant overlooking the private park, a stunning sky terrace with 360 panoramic views, the largest ballroom in Lausanne, 5 conference rooms and sumptuous 1500 m2 wellness spa, with 8 treatment rooms and an indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

The Royal Savoy Hotel has been a prestigious symbol of Lausanne for many years, its architectural magnificence and tradition of hospitality rivalling the best luxury hotels in Switzerland which attracted aristocracy and famous personalities.  Constructed in a neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau styles, the hotel was beautifully fitted out using the finest materials and quickly became an essential part of Lausanne’s historic heritage.
