John Lewis launches luxury womenswear brand
British high street department store John Lewis has announced plans to launch its first luxury womenswear brand, Modern Rarity, with the aim of offering shoppers classic shapes for a reimagined wardrobe.
Launching in stores and online on 8 September, 2016, the collection includes 90 timeless pieces, from knitwear and outerwear to shirts and tailored trousers.
According to British media, each season the retailer will invite guest designers to create a capsule collection for the brand. For AW16, John Lewis is partnering with shirtmakers Palmer//Harding, who designed five shirt styles for the collection. This is the first time Palmer//Harding collaborate with a high street brand.
