Jean Paul Gaultier to bring in-house production of apparel
French luxury house of Jean Paul Gaultier, owned by giant beauty company PUIG, is unlikely to renew its licensing agreement with AEFFE Group (Alberta Ferretti, Moschino, Pollini), which has been in place since 1994 and which expires in 2013. PUIG’s strategy involves bringing in-house Gaultier’s fragrances business which is lincesed until 2015 to BPI Beaute Prestige International. Last month, AEFFE announced it has signed a strategic partnership with the owners of French house of UNGARO for the exclusive production and distribution of the brand’s ready to wear. Jean Paul Gaultier registered a turnover of 26 million euros in 2011.
