InterContinental to open November 1st in Moscow

The first five star hotel to open in the centre of Moscow in the past decade (the most recent was Lotte on the outskirts of the city) the InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya will be inaugurated November 1st. The hotel is situated on Tverskaya highstreet, steps from the major cultural and shopping attractions. InterContinental Moscow will feature 186 guestrooms and 19 suites, designed in an “eclectic contemporary modernist” style with features that represent local architecture and culture. Two restaurants, an I SPA and several function rooms will complete the new five star offering in the Russian capital.

During a press statement in Moscow today, Angela Brav, CEO Europe at InterContinental Hotels Group announced her company’s intention to open 100 hotels in Russia and the CIS by 2020, targetting cities such as Samara, Ekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk etc. Crown Plaza, Holiday Inn and Indigo will be the brands from the IHG portfolio with the highest number of new openings excpected in Russia and CIS.
