Hermes opens fifth production facility in France
The luxury group Hermes on Friday inaugurated a new factory in Hericourt (Haute Saône), the 15th in France entirely devoted to leather goods to meet strong global demand for its handbags. The factory employs 93-saddlers leather craftsmen.

The new factory Héricourt, between Besançon and Belfort between, is located on a disused site weaving, old mills in Pâquis.

The factory is now dedicated solely to the production the at-hand-bag iconic “Kelly” – in reference to Princess Grace Kelly. – one of the most popular products of Hermes.
This site is the second Hermes in the region with the manufacture of Seloncourt which opened in 1996 and employs 240 people. A third project is planned in Franche-Compte, manufacture of Allan, which should open its doors in late 2017.
he Franche-Comté leather goods division should eventually total around 780 employees which are especially trained locally in partnership with the School Boudard (in Bethoncourt) and the High School of Huisselets (Montbeliard).
Hermes employs a total of 12,244 people, including 7,461 in France.
