Hermes host exhibition ‘Hermès à tire-d’aile – Les mondes de Leïla Menchari’

Hermes hosts ‘Hermès à tire-d’aile – Les mondes de Leïla Menchari’ exhibition, a journey of eight sketches shedding light on Leïla Menchari’s poetic and flamboyant universe, a style that became the signature of the Hermès windows from 1978 to 2013.
After its renowned Saut Hermès which will celebrate its 9th edition next year, the French house will once again take to the Grand Palais in November with a major exhibition dedicated to the work of Leïla Menchari, the signature style of the Hermès windows from 1978 to 2013. Nathalie Crinière tells the story of the striking, flamboyant and imaginative universe of the artist through the set design of eight thematic sketches.
It is she who designed, illustrated and created all of the Parisian house’s magical decors for the Parisian windows, as well as leading Hermès’ Comité couleurs de la soie, and has always enjoyed playing around with materials and colors inspired by her travels, all while working with a body of exceptional artisans.
Hermès à tire-d’aile – Les mondes de Leïla Menchari, is therefore a story of dreams, creation and sharing told by one of Hermès’ most emblematic figures. One work by Leïla Menchari, La Reine Mage, will be co-published in November 2017 with Actes Sud, to accompany the Parisian exhibition.
Hermès à tire-d’aile – Les mondes de Leïla Menchari, from November 8 to December 3 2017, Grand Palais – Galerie Sud, free entry.
