GUCCI opens pop up store and launches vintage exhibit
After Miami and New York, GUCCI opens in London its pop up temporary store. The pop up is exclusively dedicated to its limited edition sneakers collection designed by Mark Ronson. Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini explains that it is this type of unique collections which attracts a loyal base of customers.
During May 13 – 15 GUCCI also presents in its flagship London store on Sloane street its itinerary exhibition dedicated to its vintage styles based on bamboo, which it calls ”Bamboo forever”. The vintage collection showcases archive images with star such as Ingrid Bergman and Vanessa Redgrave.
Given the many issues Gucci has been facing due to conflicts with Gucci family heirs who launched a paralel bags collection and opened a hotel using the Gucci brand, this new exhibit comes as a sensible move for Gucci. The brand has been aware of the importance of drawing on its heritage especially during the current economic crisis.
