Graff Diamond heads for US$ 1 billion IPO in Hong Kong
British based jeweller Graff Diamonds has filed an application for its $1 billion IPO in Hong Kong, ahead of a planned listing in April this year. In November, Graff said Hong Kong is a suitable listing venue because of the huge demand for diamonds in the region.
Companies like Prada SpA and Samsonite International S.A. were among the big-name international companies that listed in Hong Kong in 2011 as they chase capital from Asian investors. But despite a buoyant start to the stock markets in 2012, foreign listings have been pitifully low. Part of that is due to the never-ending holiday season from Christmas to the end of Chinese New Year that shut companies out of the markets for almost two months.
