Gianfranco Ferré faces uncertain future

For the first time since 1978, Italian fashion house Gianfranco Ferré will not be present at the upcoming Milan Fashion Week, a sign of the worsening of its financial condition, which remains uncertain ever since UAE based Paris Group acquired the house in 2012. The house of Ferre lost even its headquarters and showroom, the heritage palace on Milan’s Via Pontaccio having been acquired in January this year by Kiton. Several boutiques remain operational however, the only manufacturing facility of the house, located in Bologna remains closed.
