First international luxury hotel opens in KIEV amid major crisis

The new InterContinental Kiev opens in the Ukrainian capital in July 2009. Perfectly located in the symbolic St Michael’s Square, the InterContinental Kiev is the only hotel in the city that can cater for up to 800 delegates in its ‘must-see’ grand ballroom. Highlights also include a state-of-the-art con¬ference centre covering an area of 1166 square meters, a French Parisian Restaurant, Mediterranean Cuisine with an Italian flare, a magnificent interior and a striking architecture that makes the hotel unique.
Unfortunately, the timing of the opening could not be any worse, the Ukrainean market experiencing a dramatic worsening of its economy due to the international crisis. However, the Inter Continental might take advantage of its unique positioning as the leading luxury hotel, thus attracting major events, especially corporate and governmental.
