Family owned Fratelli Rossetti celebrates 60 years in 2013

Italian luxury shoemaker Fratelli Rosetti is among the few remaining independent maisons alongside Missoni, Zegna, Moreschi and Ferragamo, with the founding family maintaining full control over the company. This year, Fratelli Rossetti celebrates its 60th birthday, the business being run even today by the founder’s family, Renzo Rossetti. With the occasion of the anniversary in 2013, Fratelli Rossetti expects to surpass 90 million euros in turnover.

In the 60′s and 70′s, Rossetti collaborated with major labels such as Valentino, Bill Blass, Giorgio Armani and Pierre Cardin, while later, in 1979  Fratelli Rossetti was the first Italian luxury brand to open on Madison Avenue in New York. The 80′s were the year of breakthrough for the brand on its own, with international awareness – boutiques followed in Paris on Rue Royale and London, on Bond Street.

The house has remained consistent with its Made in Italy production as well as a rule that each family member who wishes to be involved with the company has to go through an extensive training and work his or her way up. In 2012, Fratelli Rossetti launched its made to measure service, currently available at its flagship store in Milan on Via Montenapoleone. An international travelling exhibition with iconic pieces has been featured in several of the flagship stores of the brand, including Hong Kong and Shanghai, with other cities to follow suit in 2013.
