Fabergé Museum opens in St Petersburg
Russian billionaire Viktor Vekselberg inaugurated this week the Faberge Museum to display his glittering collection of Faberge eggs, once owned by the tsars, in the former imperial capital of Saint Petersburg. The only private museum in Russia features over 4,000 works of decorative and fine art including gold and silver items and paintings as well as items made of porcelain and bronze iconic. Faberge pieces and is located within The Shuvalovsky Palace in Saint Petersburg, the former House of Friendship. The Museum will be open for the general public in December 2013.
