Estée Lauder acquires famed French perfume brand Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle

Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle is the third acquisition in less than a month by beauty giant Estée Lauder. The deal closely follows Lauder’s acquisitions of similarly niche, high-end beauty brands Le Labo, also a maker of fragrances, and Rodin Olio Lusso, which specializes in skincare.

Each Frédéric Malle collection features an assortment of perfumes by master perfumers, curated by Malle himself. A bottle of one of the precious scents can set you back upwards of $200. Fabrizio Freda, president and chief executive officer of the Estée Lauder Companies, describes the line as “the epitome of elegance,” and “a true luxury brand that augments our portfolio of prestige beauty products.”

Estée Lauder Companies owns beauty brands La Mer, Clinique, Clinique, Jo Malone and licenses Tom Ford, Zegna, Kiton, Michael Kors etc.
