Once considered the ''bible of fashion'' in the past decade, VOGUE has been failing to create a coherent global voice, each major international edition being driven mostly by the egos of their chief editors, who have become more famous than the magazines they publish, lacking any strategic editorial approach. Covers and editorial materials have all become too predictable, many VOGUE international editions following trends, instead of creating them, as they used to, in the past. Nowadays, fashion is much more than just an expression of trends, fabrics and design, but rather an integral part of one's lifestyle. Photography, architecture, music, charity and celebrities are all interconnected directly or indirectly with fashion. Yet, finding a common language is still a major challenge for magazines such as VOGUE. The issue is dedicated to actress Penelope Cruz, featuring a variety of previously unknown talents and facets of the famous actress such as her passion for photography and her great admiration for Chanel.  Penelope Cruz is featured alongside Kate Winslet, Meryl Streep, Bono and Gwyneth Paltrow, all of them wearing RED charity fashion label clothing and accessories. RED has been a long time successfull project initiated and managed  by singer BONO.  Top international photographer Steven Klein has created the most daring pictorials in this edition of VOGUE, several shots of full nudity expressing a perfect mix of sensuality and fashion. Designer Karl Lagerfeld, turned photographer, unveils a beautiful pictorial featuring Vanessa Paradis, herself a muse and inspiration for Chanel's latest advertising campaign. French editor in chief Carine Roitfeld signs most of the styling in this issue which is at the same time raw, erotic and fashionable. Oliver Petcu
