SPAs at major luxury hotels, both city and resort types, are no longer catering just to adults. An increasing number of luxury hotels have been adding dedicated kids menus, which not only have health benefits but also psychological, enganging with children while on vacation or during a stay with their parents. Involving kids in the spa process and getting them enthusiastic about its health benefits from an early age help plant the responsibilities that we need as adults towards our own well-being,” says Spa Manager Veljko Savic at the Four Seasons Maldives. “Plus the spa experience—tailored specifically for kids—is fun and feels great!” Participants first hop a dhoni and make their way over water to the island Kuda Spa. Then they choose from 12 interactive treatments from the Kuda (Little) Spa Menu. Children as young as 6 (accompanied by a parent or guardian) can create their own blend of essential oils for the 60-minute Dream Massage and activate their own “magic” self-heating marine mixture prior to their Mini Lava Shell Massage. They’ll even learn how to play Tibetan singing bowls and make their own Himalayan salt and marigold poultice in the 90-minute Totally Transcend ritual, a blissful combination of vibration healing and marma point massage. For a great bonding and learning experience try the mom and daughter treatment (Mummy and Me) or father and son treatment (Surfers’ Scrub). “Our Kuda Spa menu is based on the understanding that kids learn best by interaction and discovery,” says Savic. “We want them to leave The Island Spa feeling great, but also with an understanding of the health benefits of spa and nature’s role in that process.” The SPA at the One & Only Palmilla in Cabo Mexico offers a Young Traveller Collection which features services such as Hydrator, Cleanse and Refresh facials, Relax and Nourish Mini Massage & Scalp Treatment as well as Mini Manicure and Pedicure The Spa at Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai has created a children's SPA menu of treatments that can be enjoyed by little ones on their own – or by parents and kids together. And best of all, the new treatments use organic, chemical-free products to ensure that the delicate skin of those little angels is taken care of gently. These include: Angel Bliss Massage, Look At Me Facial, Gorgeous Skin Glow Soothing Wrap for Sun-Kissed Skin. The Ritz Carlton Orlando features a dedicated kids SPA menu which includes teen facials, teen massages, ''Princess fizzy manicure'' and ''Princess fizzy pedicure''. Parents must be present for all treatments.
